At third I would search for some Icons, then you can change the old ones, so that your WasteBin looks like a Red Wings Logo ( ).
Or you make the Icons yourself, its possible with a program that you can Download for free here:
it's called @icon sushi
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
It converts bmp/png/psd files into ico files (the format Windows uses) then you paint yourself a nice Wallpaper. After this you check everything and start to finetune the look therefor you has to read some tutorials some hints and so on.
Good Luck! For any questions you may send me a message (but I don't have an answer for anything, sorry) |
yeah red wings logo but maybe detroit logo will be in traditional Wastebin?
but I have questions.
1. Can I "download" my design desktop theme from Internet produced by my friend?
2. When I do desktop can I delete the programs and this theme will be available?

Sure you produce a pic with a Detroit Logo in wastebin and convert it to logo.
But your two other questions... I don't understand what you mean

Your friend produce a normal XP-Desktop-Theme and it will work on your Computer. If your friend do everything for you, you have no need for all the Programs. But he can only produce a Theme for you. For the change of the start menu you have to use Tclock or your friend will also send you modified DLLs and also the Program Object-Dock only works when you have installed it. So look around in the Net what the meaning of a Desktop-theme is. Look around what the meaning of Object-Dock is. Or go and buy the Stardock Avalanche theme. But then you need the Stardock Program, you don't just buy the theme I think you buy the Program with the Avalanche Skin.

Oh, I'm sorry, like I said before I don't use XP. So my hint with Tclock was a failure. So you have to work deep in the system with the DLLs but this gonna be difficult. For now I have no better Idea, there are ways to modify your XP for free but you have to search for the Tutorials and don't think it's done in a few minutes.

You need two Icons one which is empty and one where you have the Wings logo in (like the one I have made) then you change the Icons in your Icon set in XP. By the way the one (I think you downloaded it) on my page is just a png so you have to convert it with the Program I told you yesterday.

Object-Dock is just a gimmick but it would be nice. You don't have to use Object Dock to change your Desktop. Search for Screenshots of Object-Dock and you will see what it's for. To make the changes you want, you have to buy Stardock I just wanted to give you informations about how to change the look of your Windows XP for free. You will never reach something like Stardock will do for you! You can change Wallpaper, Icons, Sounds and startup but not the shape of your Desktop.
