Yep, team looks much better now. And we need to thank Peter Budaj. He is outstanding. This is the first time this season, when a goalie can steal a game for us.

So far, the team did well without Joe. Other playes had more ice time, and was very motivated to show thery are able to win even if Sakic is not playing. But, as Hejduk and Q mentioned, it may be good for short time. It will be difficult for such a long time...

So if we play so weak when we have not got Sakic so what will be when he will end career?

His career will last 2, maybe 3 years. By this time, we would be prepared. Of course, it is not easy, but we must be sure that Staz is ready to take Joe`s role. IMO he is our "next" Sakic. In addition, is is sth different, when you lose such important player in the middle of the season, and when you know about him missing in the offseason. In mental sphere there is huge diffrence.

well, now we have not got sakic and have to pay him 6 million and more, which count against the cap..
and I dont want to retire joe soon, but when he retieres, the avs will have 6 millions per year to spend on another great young guy, maybe wing or goalie, or defense, because on center, I see stastny in the future on the #1-line...
so, dont worry too much about retirement of joe

There is another problem. Smyth is out indefinetely. Medical staff will wait for a while a see if he could improve. But, so far we`ve got bad experience with that... Joe is the best example, he had even skated, but finally, it required an surgery..

Shit... And, i wonder what medical staff is going to tell us. We will see how he could improve? And 2 days later: "Out for 3 months"? :/
