well pre-season is not the same like "real" competition...but as you said, the Red Bulls are favourite this year, but that was also clear in June *gg*
No wonder, a team with an Anaheim Ducks-Stanley Cup-Champion defender and many other ex-NHLers....

yes, they already have some sort of hockey acedemy....but there are many rumors around REd Bull. There was and is still the rumor, that Mateschitz wants to buy the Montreal Canadiens for example....

no no, but this certainly would mean a lot of canadiens training-camps in summer in Austria (like LA Kings this year, but Mateschitz only co-operates with an owner of the LA Kings, so no takeover or something like that)
