Wake up America - no one can take your religion or beliefs from you. It does not matter who is Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist or anything else - they have their rights just as believers in Christ have theirs. But to even consider bending a Christian or Christmas season tradition in order not to offend other religions is ludicrous. To consider that it might be able to BE done is even more ludicrous. Get [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] on with your Christian lives, and accept your neighbours no matter what religion they are. Might make for a happier world - do you think?
The reasons put forward by these unknown propagators who want Christmas known as simply a [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] holiday with no reference at all to a deity, is "we do not wish to offend others of different religions". The United States in particular is getting it's collective knickers in [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] a knot over this recently raised problem. [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Of course, no one [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] in their right mind can believe that anyone can take God or a [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Higher Power of any denomination out of the souls and minds of any individual - unless that [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] is the way they want to go.
Some many years ago, during the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Cold War, when Russia was the USSR and under communistic regime, Christianity or indeed most likely any denomination, was more than frowned upon by the Communist party, who wanted allegiance [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] by their people to their one party and to them alone. Is there a similarity here? Is this is what is emerging in the United States? Or is it the people being panicked by the thought of God being removed - from schools, court rooms, and some have even suggested from buildings. Now that would be almost impossible - imagine the Government spending money it has not got on removing every trace of the mention of God from their engraved stone buildings, not to mention from their money.
If they are not very very careful, they will worry themselves into a state of acceptance of that they most fear. It is of concern to this writer from the other side of the world (Australia) that a country like the United States that has always been so strong, could be so easily tempted into yet another fear by the would be changers of tradition. If they give in to their fears and [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] start accepting the holiday wording instead of Christmas, they will be justifiably at some stage, compared to the former USSR. I really do NOT think they would like that too much.
I have received hundreds of emails over the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] past year or so, complaining of the efforts by 'some' people, not specifically named, who are trying to "Get Rid Of Christmas". The subject titles are various. There is much wringing of email writers hands over this dilemma.
But I [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] digress. It's really about time the American people woke up and realised that no-one can take from them their religious identity. It seems the Christian community are the most worried about all this.
