People looking to lose weight may be interested to know that eating chocolate can actually make you depressed, according to a new study.
Recent research published in the Archives of Internal Medicine reported that people who eat [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] at least one chocolate bar every week are more likely to feel down when compared to those who only eat chocolate sporadically.
The study, which was carried out by staff at the University of California, San Diego, contradicts the common assumption that a person can improve their mood by eating chocolate.
Participants revealed [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] how much chocolate they consumed and many completed a questionnaire about their overall diet. Their moods were then assessed using an accepted depression scale.
It was discovered that the more chocolate people ate the more depressed they felt and those who ate the most, which was more than six standard [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] size bars a month, became the glummest.
Dr Beatrice Golomb said: [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] "Our study confirms long-held suspicions that eating chocolate is something that people do when they are feeling down.
"Because it was a cross sectional study, meaning a slice in [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] time, it did not tell us whether the chocolate [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] decreased or intensified the depression."
Almost one thousand men and women took part [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] in the case study and none of the subjects were on antidepressants or had been diagnosed as clinically depressed by a doctor.
"Depression may stimulate chocolate cravings for unrelated reasons, without a treatment benefit of chocolate.
"The possibility that chocolate could causally contribute to depressed mood, driving the association, cannot be excluded," stated the report.
As well as the link to depression, health experts have warned that most chocolate bars contain [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] high levels of saturated fats and sugar that contribute to high cholesterol levels, obesity and coronary heart disease.
People can resist the urge to eat chocolate and lose weight at the same time by taking t5 fat burners as they increase metabolism and [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] act as an appetite suppressant, according to DesirableBody.
Green tea is another appetite suppressor and fat burner, which can be useful for those looking to give up chocolate and lose [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] weight.
The drink can be taken alongside t5 fat burners and is rich in catechin polyphenols, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] powerful antioxidants that inhibit the growth [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] of cancer and protect externally against DNA damage induced by ultraviolet light.
Scientists at Toronto University have claimed that eating fast food can result in psychological drawbacks such as making people crave instant gratification and becoming increasingly impatient.
DesirableBody provide t5 slimming pills and t5 fat burners to assist people who want to lose weight.
